Ginlong Solis Data Logging Device RF Kit and RF Stick monitoring data collector, the terminal uses RS485 communication to connect to the inverter, the gateway uses wired Ethernet to connect to the home router, and the gateway and terminal are connected through RF data to realize automatic networking. The equipment is connected to the gateway automatically, free of wiring and wireless network configuration; it aims to realize a stable and intelligent operation and maintenance management plan for users.

With Solis RF Kit connection is still wireless but over a different RF frequency, main benefit of this connection is if a customer changes their Wi-Fi router they do not have to set up connection to the Solis inverter again. They just unplug the RF Kit from the old router, plug it in to the new router and it all works automatically, no set up required.

Ho to install the Solis RF-stick & RF Gateway ?

The installation of the Solis RF dongle and gateway is very straight forward and only requires the installer to have a smartphone/laptop to hand. The unit provides a simple to install monitoring solution for end customers with access to web, iPhone and Android app monitoring.

At Solis, in addition to free access to the monitoring website there is also an installer level login. With this feature the installer can view all their Solis inverters installed in one place.

• Turn OFF your AC and DC Switch off your inverter
• Insert your Solis RF stick to the bottom of your inverter/ COM port
• Plug and play, quick installation
• Turn your inverter back on
• Install the RF gateway close to your router. Please note that the distance between the RF gateway and your solar inverter cannot be more than 20m (max)
• Connect the RF gateway to your router via a LAN cable
• Power up your RF gateway by connecting it to the power supply
• Create Solis Monitoring account by downloading from the APP store or Google Play the Solis Home or Solis Pro apps to your smartphone OR scan the appropriate QR code from the back of your Gateway with your phone
• Create Plant (upp4r right corner in your app)
• Scan the SN number of the RF Gateway (NOT the inverter!)
• Enter your details required by the Solis Monitoring platform
• You are ready to go!
